Different types of VAT rates
In the United Kingdom, there are three rates of Value Added Tax (VAT) known as standard rate, reduced rate and zero rate. Have a look at our post to see more on these different types of VAT rates.
The standard rate applies to most goods and services, the reduced rate applies to certain goods and services such as domestic fuel and power, and the zero rate applies to certain goods such as food, books, and children's clothes.
