Flexible Working Increases Success

Increase flexibility – increase success

Managers who have embraced flexible working practices have seen performance figures soar. They tell me that people are more motivated and work much harder when they are allowed to work
flexibly.

There appears to be a direct relationship between giving people choice and flexibility and their productivity. People who have some degree of control over their working time focus better when
they are working. They are also more loyal to the business and much more likely to ‘go the extra mile’ when needed.

“I am amazed by the results we have achieved simply by allowing people to work remotely three days a week” one manager told me. She went on to say: “It’s not just output that’s improved; their
attitude and commitment is up 100%”.

A flexible approach to working time, where work is carried out and the tasks and duties people do is key if you really want to engage people.

If you treat people as individuals, with specific individual needs, they will respond.

If you engage with them as individuals, they will engage with you.

The result will be people who want to work with you, not just for you. You will retain talent, reduce recruitment costs and have a dedicated workforce who want to play their part in your success.
