Success in your career will depend to a large extent on your actions and the difference they make to your employer's business. It doesn’t matter how small a difference you make, just make a difference anyway.
Let me share an apocryphal tale with you that perfectly illustrates the point.
A man was walking along the beach after a storm: there were thousands upon thousands of starfish washed up on the shoreline and he was throwing them back into the sea one at a time. A bystander remarked, “That won’t make a difference!” As the man carried on throwing them back into the sea he replied, “It’ll make a difference to that one, and that one, and that one …….”
On reflection my other thought is as follows. "As well as our careers, it's a good tale for us all to reflect on when we are thinking about our climate, our planet and the difference we can make as individuals by slightly changing some of our daily routines, actions and behaviours." Hmmm - food for thought!
